  • HomecomingJanuary 6, 2008 7:29 am

Part of the discussion last dec 2007, we are planning to put up a name for our Alumni group as a whole. Share to us what you can think of so that we can have a poll to cast out votes to choose which among the given names is best describe the ITE ALUMNI.

Some of the men in CS Batch 2001 and CS Batch 2003, suggested the following names:

    1. THE GREY GURUS

    2. GEEKS IN PINK (nyahahahaha!)

    3. GREY TECH WARRIORS (nah! gamerssss!)

So please, drop a comment for a group name/names you have in mind right now so that we can finally create our official ITE ALUMNI Logo out of the name that will be selected.

    Thanks a lot!

    HomecomingJanuary 4, 2008 7:02 am

Last December 28, 2007, as pre new year celebration, the ITE alumni peeps gathered together at Blugre Coffee Shop Landco, Bajada with Engr. Randy Gamboa and Mr. Nephtaly Talavera.

We have discussed the details for the upcoming ITE Alumni Homecoming this year. It has been settled that the fixed date of the annual homecoming is every December 30th, that’s a holiday. So, we will expect numerous alumni to come.

For the Information of all, the UIC ITE granted a CODE (Center of Development and Excellence) status by the PAASCU.

Congratulations to the UIC Information Technology Education Program as one of the CODE - ITE in the Region. The PAASCU Consultancy Visit was successful as well lat February 25, and we are now preparing for the Formal Visit this year.

The efforts, sacrifices, supports and cooperations of the Administration, ITE Faculty and Staff as well as the students paid off. We did a great job! - Exander Barrios

Let’s  congrats our dear alma mater for the success. More power to ITE!

Here are the Blugre gathering pix.

    Homecoming 6:43 am

Last December 30, 2007 at 1:00PM, Alumni gathered for the first ever Alumi Homecoming of ITE. We expected a hundred of attendees but only a few were present due to some family affairs and that’s why they find it hard to say ‘NO’ just to attend the said activity and most of them are in manila and were not allowed to take a vacation leave and so with the alumni abroad.

Dr. Engr. Gamboa, the ex-dean of COMSCI Department, who encourages us to make this event come into reality. Just imagine how tough it is to communicate and spread info through online. But indeed we made it. Thanks you so much sir.

Mrs. Agton, our Alumni Coordinator was there advising us to make the ITE alumni as official school activity and the officers will work on it.

Mr. Talavera witnessed the event too, still single and available *daw* Hehehe.

We would like to say thank you for those who came. It’s our full pleasure to see each other again after long years.

We will do the best we can do for the next homecoming (which is this year) and we will make sure huge number of alumni will come.

Still, the blood of being UICIAN never fades.

Numerous alumni have gathered in an scheduled conference via YIM for discussion regarding the updates of the said event.

This event will be a BIG DAY for all of us. For years of absence, it is now our time to reunite and gather altogether … for the very first time.

Part of the plans is to let us know from the majority if we make this event into reality. So we decided to free these form and letter to all of you to echo your presence to us. But we believe this will close to possibility since most of us are aware of this. We just want to collect information from all alumni.

Here are the files. Download them.

    1. Alumni Letter
    2. Alumni Form

We are pleased to hear your response within 15 days upon receiving the files. Just email the files to breelee_corr@yahoo.com

The said date is stil tentative so you can as well suggest. Just refer to the Alumni Form.

    Visit again for more updates.

    Thanks so much.

    P.S.
Thanks to pboz of BSCS Batch 2004 for sparing the space in uploading the files.

    Plans 6:25 am

Last YM conference which took place last June 24, 2006 was focused on clarifying some issues concerning the activities to be conducted in the ITE Alumni Homecoming this December 27.

    Mass
    –> OK

    Entry per batch
–> This still has to be clarified first. I don’t remember having this one cleared up during the conversation.

    Opening remarks
–> This will be done by Sir Gamboa, the Father of Computer Science in UIC.

    Discussion with Mrs. Agton
–> This is one of the highlights of the event in which Mrs. Agton will give some helpful insights about being a UIC Alumni and other important matters that would be helpful in strengthening the group.

    Election of Alumni Officers
    –> OK

Flashback Presentation per batch (c/o batch Representatives)
–> This will be done by batch instead of having Joemar do the task. Each batch will plan out as to how this things will be carried out. Hmmm, I guess it would be better if there is some sort of a contest for this as well. Watcha think?

    Web Design Contest
–> Again, this will be done per batch. So far, 100$ is at stake but Sir Gamboa is still waiting for other sponsors to contribute. I heard Sir Talyo is offering a couple of Lapads. So, start creating your websites now for some extra cash.

    Updates on batch reps:
    1999: Venson Jan Aguilar
2001: Rose, Jonas, Dennis, Mark, & Betchai
    2002: Emats and Jericho
2003: Ariesa, Seigfred, Errol, & Joemar
    2005: Estherbelle, Jon, Cha, Jeff
    2006: Lyndon, Patrick

    Batch 2000 and 2004, Hello?

    Plans 6:24 am

Last Saturday afternoon we had our usual Alumni Conference via YIM and it was attended by several newcomers from various ITE batches. Despite of the very crowded and floods of OFF Topics in the room we came up with updates regarding the ITE alumni homecoming.

    Mass
    Entry per batch
    Opening remarks
    Discussion with Mrs. Agton
    Election of Alumni Officers
Flashback Presentation per batch (c/o batch Representatives)
    Web Design Contest

Aside from the activities posted before, new ideas suggested which are seminars on the latest hardwares and softwares (specifically on PL and WEB), tips on how to create ideal resume for job application and careers in call centers.

Rayvelou Fabiana(batch 2001) prepared a talk about server technologies
Paul Domag(batch 2001) and Emats (batch 2002) *I do not know exactly his real name hehehe* are the suggested speakers for the latest PLs, and yet subject for confirmation.

Tips on how to create ideal resume etc…has no speakers yet.
Careers in call centers will take charge by Beth (oi! Ako yun) since I am connected in a call center now.

The venue is in UIC ANNEX AVR ( assuming we can have less number of alumni attendees) but many raised a suggestion what if there will be numerous attendees, so UIC annex gym or UIC audi are the recommendations.

By October, we will collect confirmation from all ITE ALUMNI who will attend the said homecoming for us to finalize the exact venue. So this will be done thru yahoogroups, itealumni blogsite and friendster (since many are active in this place)

    Updated list of batch representatives:

    1999: Venson Jan Aguilar
    2001: dennis, mark, & betchai
    2002: Emats and Jericho
2003: ariesa, seigfred, errol, & joemar
    2005: estherbelle, jon, cha, jeff
    2006: lyndon, patrick

    Calling Batches 2000 and 2004!

Joemar Lamata will be in-charged on the Flashback Presentation from Batches 1999-2006 instead of having it by batch. All alumni are encouraged to email your following personal information:

    Full Name:
    Course :
    Year Graduated:
    Profession: (current)
    Company: (current)
    Company Address:

And do attach your RECENT PIC (at work) and send them to ite@uic.edu.ph

This will be used for the flashback presentation.

Mr. Ariel Mogan(batch 1999) is sponsoring his hosting for the ITE ALUMNI OFFICIAL WEBSITE which will be based on the winners of the web design contest, and he is advising alumni to pay for the domain worth Php 850.00 per year.

The payment will take place during the homecoming and be collected by the newly elected Alumni Treasurer.

Spread the news to all alumni who are not yet aware of these. This will be the first ever alumni homecoming for UIC College Department.
